Position Summary

In support of the Mission, Vision and Values of SyBridge Technologies Group of Companies, the Process Technician is responsible for running tryouts of tools by setting up molds in machine presses, maintaining work material, and troubleshooting within the Tryout Department. Reporting to General Manager, the Process Technician ensures quality is a priority each and every time while achieving deadlines and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control process start-up, shutdown and troubleshooting
  • As needed, adjust equipment, valves, pumps and controls and process equipment
  • Verify mold function in the press
  • Set up and remove tools from the press
  • Sample products, perform tests and record data
  • Responsible to seek out resin in preparation of tryouts, set up dryers, make sure correct nozzle tip is used, proper and safe setup of tool as well as machine parameters completion of all associated paperwork regarding tryouts
  • Regularly use the overhead crane to transport molds / mold components through the shop and set up molds in presses (weight up to 100,000lbs)
  • Regularly use the forklift to transport molds / mold components throughout the shop and prepare them for tryouts (weight up to 5,000lbs)
  • Regularly perform preventative maintenance on assigned press including:
    • Grease all joints in toggles, skates, and injection unit
    • Monitor the oil tank level
    • Monitor the oil level in screw motor
    • Seek out and repairing oil and water leaks on press
    • Report any maintenance repairs needed in a timely manner
  • Provide emergency response when required
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs using provided paper and/or electronic logs
  • Responsible for maintaining safe operations by keeping work area clean and organized and by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  • At the start and end of each shift:
    • Cleanup of assigned press
    • Empty scrap bins
    • Sweep pellets from tryouts
    • Storage of materials such as hoses and fittings put back in cabinet in the proper place
    • Clean scrap/purging from the pit and injection unit area
    • Return eyebolts to proper storage following the setup of a job
    • Return every piece of auxiliary equipment, packaging, or material component to its designated place after use
  • Participate in required meetings and training, as requested

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of related experience as a Process Technician
  • Ability to perform under pressure and work independently
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as required
  • Ability to ensure quality standards are met
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
  • Proficient in time management and communication skills
