Position Summary

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join the SyBridge Digital Solution Engineering team at our Itasca, Illinois headquarters. You will be the end-to-end owner of technical application requirements for CNC machining and sheet metal applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution from design to production. In this role, you will conduct technical part reviews, supplier capability assessments, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis, ensuring manufacturing cost accuracy and efficient production processes for both prototype and high-volume projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical application requirements for CNC machining and sheet metal projects.
  • Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis to ensure optimal production.
  • Lead technical application requirements for CNC machining and sheet metal projects, from on-demand prototyping to high-volume production.
  • Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis to ensure optimal production and cost efficiency.
  • Analyze customer CAD data, 2D drawings, and technical specifications to assess manufacturability and scope of work.
  • Lead internal investigations and corrective actions in response to customer complaints or returned products.
  • Coordinate with Cost Engineering to handle deviation requests and ensure clear communication with customers and suppliers.
  • Drive internal continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and enhance standard operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot in-process manufacturing and part design issues, providing expertise on 3-axis, 5-axis, and lathe CNC machining applications.
  • Collaborate with customers, manufacturing partners, and internal teams (Sales, Supply Chain, Quality) to support cost estimation, production processes, and inspection plans.
  • Conduct thorough technical part reviews and supplier capability assessments.
  • Collaborate with customers, external manufacturing partners, and internal Sales and Supply Chain teams to support accurate cost estimation and production processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Proven experience in CNC machining and/or sheet metal applications.
  • Strong background in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales and Supply Chain.
  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with customers and external manufacturing partners.
