Position Summary
As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will report directly to the Director, Human Resources and lead the charge in aligning HR strategies with our business goals, while supporting multiple facilities. You will collaborate closely with senior leaders to shape our HR agenda and ensure our workforce is equipped to achieve exceptional results. This role presents a unique opportunity to influence and shape our organization's success.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Director, Human Resources to develop and standardize HR programs, policies, procedures, and work instructions across the respective divisions/locations.
- Work closely with Site leaders to implement and execute HR programs and initiatives, positive employee relations, and a safe work environment.
- Offer HR guidance to employees and managers providing solutions aligned with specific business needs such as coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, and policy and procedure interpretation.
- Drive all employee engagement activities alongside the plant leadership team to ensure a high level of employee satisfaction, performance excellence, and retention.
- Develop and implement a communications strategies including the creation of a communications plan, defining communications channels, and establishing a communications cadence. Manage internal communications by disseminating information to employees, promoting open dialogue, and addressing employee concerns.
- Assist with company recruiting efforts and onboarding as required. Develop contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
- Administer all employee benefits and company retirement savings plans. Assist with resolution of all employee payroll and benefits issues.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Assist international employees with all HR related matters.
- Ensure compliance to all legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Provide guidance and input on organizational structure, workforce planning, and succession planning.
- Provide leadership in training and development including needs analysis, development, coordination, assessment, and record keeping of training.
- Maintain an accurate human resources system including employee personnel files, HR Information systems, and other relevant electronic data files.
- Oversee employee absenteeism and disability management and report on statistics. Assist with effective claims management including investigation of incidents, completion of required forms, and reporting of all workplace injury compensation cases.
- Lead the facility’s Performance Management system including managing company processes including job descriptions, performance discussions, evaluations and interventions, and record keeping.
- Analyze human resources key performance indictors to develop solutions and drive continuous improvement. Lead the development and implementation of continuous improvements to human resources systems, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-4 years experience of strong HR generalist background in manufacturing/ production environment preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in various HR disciplines, such as compensation, employee relations, diversity, disability management, performance management, and employment laws, with a particular focus on WSIB, and health and safety.
- Bachelor’s degree/college diploma in a related field
- Certified HR Professional designation is a definite asset
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work efficiently and collaboratively with a very high functioning Corporate Human Resources team, but able to work autonomously at the Plant Level with little to no supervision.
- Can work well under pressure, prioritize, multitask and operate autonomously and on a team in a deadline driven environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with U.S legislations and regulations is considered an asset.
