Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lathe Operator to join our team. In this role, you will set up, program, and operate lathe machines to produce high-precision components, ensuring first-time quality and efficiency. You will work closely with Manufacturing Engineers and Job Leaders to meet production schedules, maintain equipment, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes using Mastercam software (programming experience preferred).
• Follow production routers and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers on any process changes.
• Maximize machine utilization and optimize unattended run time.
• Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and probes to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Complete all required inspection documentation and promptly report any errors or out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Maintain production schedules and support planning activities when needed.
• Monitor and maintain tool inventory.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and ensure cleanliness of the work area.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Travel to other facilities as needed for business requirements.
• Work mandatory overtime when required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of CNC lathe machining experience; experience with Mastercam strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and precision measurement instruments.
• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a focus on quality and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
