Position Summary

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating innovative 3D CAD designs and ensuring that all projects meet quality standards and timelines. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to bring concepts to life and deliver exceptional engineering solutions. This position offers flexibility, allowing for various roles and plants to allow for growth and expanding of your personal skill set when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and design components, systems or product-based project requirements
• Create detailed 3D CAD designs and specifications using various CAD platforms.
• Overlay existing tooling for part variations and provide tooling impact studies to appropriate personnel
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to ensure feasibility and compliance.
• Ensure tool designs conform to customer standards and ensure mold functionality through Kinematic representation
• Prepare reports detailing milestone deadlines of present and upcoming tool designs
• As needed, offer input on maintaining and updating Engineering procedures
• Incorporate all customer standards into all tool designs

• As needed, make appropriate personnel aware of any hardware /software inadequacies that hinder productivity
• Work closely with Program management and manufacturing personnel to produce quality and cost-effective tooling
• Participate in required meetings and training, as requested

• Conduct design reviews and implement improvements based on feedback.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Experience in Injection Mold design, Fixture design or related field
• Proven experience as a Design Engineer or similar role
• 5 + years of related experience in the plastic mold injection industry
• 5+ years of experience with 3D modeling software’s
• Must be able to understand components (i.e. lifters and slides)

• Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

• Must be able to work independently to scheduled workloads
• Ability to perform under pressure and work independently
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as required
• Ability to ensure quality standards are met

• Strong attention to detail is required
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
• Proficient in time management and communication skills

• Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
