About the Role
We’re hiring a Climate Analyst in Brazil to join our global team of climate and data professionals. In this high-impact role, you’ll work at the intersection of climate science and data analytics—supporting enterprise customers in their journey to net zero by ensuring their emissions data is accurate, actionable, and optimized for strategic decisions.
You’ll help model complex operations, quantify emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3, and unlock opportunities for real-world decarbonization—all through your technical skills and analytical insight.
Key Responsibilities
Climate Analyst Activities
- Collect, clean, and manage large and complex climate and operational datasets from enterprise customers, ensuring completeness and consistency.
- Ensure high data quality, consistency, and alignment with Greenhouse Gas Protocol standards (Scopes 1, 2, and 3).
- Monitor platform outputs for accuracy, flag anomalies, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve data issues.
- Support development and refinement of Marginal Abatement Cost Curves (MACCs), and other modeling tools to identify decarbonization opportunities.
- Prepare internal data visualizations, charts, and dashboards to communicate key findings to the SINAI team and support decision-making.
- Assist in onboarding and configuring new customer datasets into the SINAI platform, ensuring accurate data mapping and technical alignment.
- Maintain robust documentation of methodologies, assumptions, and data sources to ensure auditability and traceability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with the Product and Engineering teams to test and troubleshoot data-related platform functionality.
- Work with internal stakeholders to improve platform features and data tools based on field experience and technical requirements.
- Contribute to internal climate knowledge by identifying trends, gaps, or enhancements based on your data-driven insights.
About You
- 1+ years of experience in climate change, sustainability analytics, or a related field (experience in startups or consulting is a plus).
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas).
- Demonstrated experience working with large datasets, conducting data cleaning, aggregation, and advanced analysis.
- Familiarity with GHG accounting frameworks such as the GHG Protocol, SBTi, or ISO 14064.
- Proficient in Portuguese and English; able to document and communicate technical content clearly and concisely.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a passion for accuracy.
- Enthusiasm for technology and interest in using software to scale climate solutions.
- Background in engineering, environmental sciences, data science, or related technical disciplines is preferred.
Salary $22,000-$30,000K USD Base Salary
The offered salary or salary range is based on several factors, including, but not limited to, overall experience, relevant experience, education level, certifications, applicable skills and expertise, and location of the position.
